Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all customers and end users of the Jupiter Service. It supplements the Terms of Service at /legal/terms. By using Jupiter, you agree to comply with this policy.
Violations of this policy may result in account suspension, termination, or reporting to law enforcement authorities.
Prohibited uses
You must not use Jupiter to:
Illegal content and activities
- Upload, transmit, or access child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content depicting minors in sexual situations.
- Facilitate or promote fraud, money laundering, or terrorist financing.
- Facilitate illegal drug production, trafficking, or distribution.
- Promote or facilitate illegal weapons trafficking or sales.
- Solicit or conduct illegal gambling.
- Any other activity that violates local, national, or international law.
Harassment, threats, and hate speech
- Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate any person.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) or phishing emails.
- Post content that advocates violence against protected groups or incites hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Defame, libel, or slander any person or organisation.
- Engage in cyberbullying or doxing.
Intellectual property and rights infringement
- Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual property rights.
- Violate trade secrets or confidential information belonging to others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the Service’s security measures.
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Service or its components without authorisation.
Security threats and system integrity
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Jupiter or any of its systems.
- Introduce malware, viruses, trojans, worms, or other hostile code.
- Launch denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or other attacks intended to disrupt service availability.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features or access controls.
- Test security vulnerabilities without prior written authorisation (see responsible disclosure below).
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically access Jupiter without authorisation.
Competitive circumvention
- Reverse engineer the Service to develop competing products.
- Extract or attempt to extract proprietary algorithms, data, or methods.
- Use Jupiter to benchmark or build competitive intelligence.
Spam and unsolicited communications
- Use Jupiter to send spam, marketing emails, or unsolicited messages.
- Use Jupiter for mass mailing campaigns, especially in conjunction with other platforms.
- Falsely impersonate Jupiter staff or use our branding without authorisation.
Content responsibility
You are solely responsible for content you upload, create, or transmit using Jupiter, including:
- Ensuring it is legal in your jurisdiction.
- Ensuring it does not infringe third-party rights.
- Ensuring it complies with this policy.
- Ensuring any personal data is processed lawfully (see the Data Processing Addendum).
We do not actively monitor all content. However, if we become aware that content violates this policy or applicable law, we may remove it, suspend your access, or take other action without notice.
Enforcement
We enforce this policy based on the severity and nature of the violation:
- Minor violations (e.g., accidental spam, policy misunderstanding): We will issue a warning and request correction.
- Repeated or serious violations (e.g., repeated harassment, intellectual property infringement): We may suspend your account immediately while investigating.
- Severe violations (e.g., CSAM, terrorism-related content, fraud): We will terminate your account immediately and may report the violation to law enforcement.
If your account is terminated for a serious violation, you are not entitled to a refund of prepaid fees, and we may pursue legal remedies.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is violating this policy, or if you encounter illegal or harmful content on Jupiter, please report it immediately to abuse@m42k.com. Include:
- Details of the violation (what happened, when, who was involved).
- Screenshots or links if available.
- Your contact details.
We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. We will not disclose the identity of the reporter to the account holder without your consent, except as required by law.
Responsible disclosure of security vulnerabilities
If you discover a security vulnerability in Jupiter, do not publish or exploit it. Instead:
- Email security@m42k.com with details of the vulnerability, including steps to reproduce it.
- Do not attempt to access data, systems, or functionality beyond what is necessary to confirm the vulnerability.
- Give us 30 days to investigate and develop a fix before you disclose the vulnerability publicly.
- Do not access, modify, or delete any data other than your own.
We appreciate responsible disclosure and will acknowledge your contribution once the vulnerability is resolved. We do not currently offer a formal bug bounty programme, but we may provide acknowledgment, credit, or other recognition for significant security findings.
Appeals
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal the decision by emailing contact@m42k.com within 14 days. Your appeal should:
- Explain why you believe the enforcement action was incorrect or disproportionate.
- Provide any evidence or context we should consider.
- Describe any corrective actions you have taken.
We will review your appeal and respond within 14 days. A senior team member unconnected to the original enforcement decision will review the appeal. Our decision on appeal is final.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified to customers by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of Jupiter after that period constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
If you do not accept a material change, you may terminate your subscription before the change takes effect.
